In the MX 3000 Editor Page Menu there is an option to Set Battery Meter and IR meter. I tried to set the Battery meter and the dialog box for it only accepts animation. Is there away to use this function and place a battery meter (such as those in cell phones with bars) on the remote home page? This would be a great way to know how much battery remains in the remote! What are the functions of IR and Battery meter in the Page menu? Will appreciate any help. Ash

Ash,
Yes you can create one similar to that of a cell phone. MX-Editor only accepts an animation because for the battery level it requires 6 frames of animation, 5 for the battery level, (for every 20% from empty to full) and then a sixth frame to show that it is on the cradle. You can draw each of these seperate 6 images, and then combine them into an animated GIF image. This is what I did, and it turned out pretty nice. Definitely nice to have a battery status indicator without having to go into the main menu. For the IR flasher, it allows two seperate images. Possibly a light for standard, and then the light "LIT UP" showing that it is flashing.

LuvMyRemote,
First let me say thank you! The battery looks great. My biggest surprise was to see that you used a transparent background, I did not think that this was possible without using a png file format which as we all know is not yet supported. Boy will this little bit of info make my life easier!
P.S. did you make a ir send meter yet and if so can I get a copy?

RWI,
Yea, you can get close to the same effect with a transparent background, but you still dont have those nice smooth alpha shaded edges that we will get to enjoy when PNG's are finally supported.
