If you want key-only remote, go with SL-9000, VL900, 15-1994. Note 15-1994 can only learn 16-22 keys.

If you want a LCD, get a Pronto.

If you want both LCD and keys, get a MKII-5000.

MX-1000 is not going to give you more than the above choices and features.

If you have a small A/V system and you want to have LCD and lots of keys, get a RCA-RCU810.

Anyone correct me if I am missing something. Does MX-1000 replaces Pronto? Probably not. Can it do web-downloadable keys and upgrade? Don't know.

As for the RC2000 MkII, it's a good remote but isn't as nice as the MX-1000 -- nor anywhere near as "customizable" (no touchscreen). But which remote depends more on what YOU need and what you want to spend, rather than "which is the best remote out there". There are different remotes for different applications or tastes.

Seriously Jas........ it's only worth the wait if a particular person thinks it is. If he/she is willing to wait for this remote because it looks like it will be to his/her liking, then yes. I agree with Daniel about how remotes are a personal thing, just like the rest of Home Theater.

As always, just.....

..... my 2-bits!!! - Greg :-)
