Has anyone figured out how to create a power on macro that works with the 52Z575? The discrete code works fine by itself to turn the tv on, but when you put it in a macro it won't turn the tv on. The power off function works fine in a macro.

Here's some combinations I've tried so far...
1) JVC power on at beginning of macro
2) JVC power on at end of macro
3) JVC power on at beginning with delay before power and after power
3) JVC power on several times before any other function in the macro

All with the same result...nothing.

I saw in this forum that someone else had this problem and solved it by learning the power on code from the JVC remote. That makes your power on button for the TV a toggle button and it also didn't work to solve my problem.

Anybody have any thoughts?

I was having the same problem as you. I could get my power off macro to work with the discrete off. Also the discrete on code worked fine by itself, but I could not get it to work in a macro. Like you I tried a number of different combinations with no luck.

However tonight it finally worked! I increased the repeat time for the discrete on code in my mx-3000 and then learned it into the mx-800 and it now turned the TV on.

If you like I would be happy to send the new learned code via email to see if it would work for you.

Cheers

Pete

Wow, I have installed at least 10 of these TVs all with 850 remotes and I haven't had any problems with the power on. I do know it took me forever to find the power on command though (i think the one that finally worked was from an old projector) but it works fine for me now. I put a power on macro in every activity macro I use in every remote I program.

I can email you one of my files if you want?

Pete and ejfiii,

Would both of you mind e-mailing me the codes you used. I'll try them both seeing as how nothing else has worked so far. My e-mail is in my profile.

Pete, I heard from another guy who extended the length of the IR signal on his Harmony remote and that worked for him. From your post it sounds like that is possible on the 3000. It's not possible on the 800 is it?

Thanks guys.

Hi Zippy I don't believe there is a way to extend it on the 800 by itelf. EJ you were kind enough to send me your codes a while back and unfortunately I could not make the power off discrete work in a macro. By using the code by iself it worked like a charm though Perhaps different production runs behave differently? My JVC was produced in December.

Zippy I just learned the code manually on the remote itself as I have been avoiding using the editor until it is updated. Will send the file to you this evening. Hoefully EJ's file will work for you first though.

Cheers

Pete

Just sent you the file and only the 3000 can program the length of a button press...

Pete Harrison-

PLEASE will you send me the power ON code that you were able to get to work. I am having the exact same problem with my MX700.

You will be my personal hero if you send that to me!

my email is [email protected]

Many Thanks,
Ryan

actually, my power OFF command is somewhat unreliable as well. i mean, the power ON command does not work at all, but the power OFF command is only slightly better. so, if you also have a "lengthened" power OFF command could you send that as well?

you have no idea how happy i am that i found someone who has had the same problem and has found a solution. thank you so much!

I'm not Pete Harrison but maybe I can be your hero?

I just sent you my file that has worked. Note that for a power off macro I usually send 2 or 3 'off' commands in a row to make sure the TV sees one of them. Otherwise, this file has worked fine for me for a bunch of installs.

EJ,

I sent you an e-mail back but I guess I can ask you here.

Do you know how to convert a .mxd into an .mfx file? When I save .mxd files I can't see them when I import them to the MXE Editor.

EJ,

Once I got the proper version of the software on my computer so I could import the mxd file the file you sent me worked like a charm.

Thanks again.

I have the JVC D-ILA TV and the MX-850 and I can't get the power on to work in a macro either. I have learned the power on and tried the code power on and all sorts of variations. The button press indicates that the signal sent is very short when in a macro. The TV needs a longer signal. I would be very grateful if one of you would send me longer button press codes that you have made.
Peace.
P.S. I have had NO problems with Editor

kmcall,

I'll e-mail you the files that were sent to me when I get home tonight. They both work great.

check your e-mail. I sent you one of the files. I'll send the other one when I get home.
