URC 1056b3 does not change channels (using Ch +/-) on DTA-30 analog cable box, I can still change channels using the numeric keys but I really hope there is a solution for this, thanks.

The urc-1056b3 is UEI made remote, not URC which this forum deal with. Yes, both UEI & URC made remotes use the prefix urc- in their remote models. It goes back to 1980's where everyone used those initials for Universal Remote Control. No one could patent it.

Try unlocking the cable device:

1. cable
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 8 2, if it blinks twice its locked, if you get four blinks it unlocked. Unlocked you can try other cable codes that might get you the up & down channel commands?

Hi Edmund, sorry for the URC confusion. I tried unlocking the cable using code 982 but it did not work either.

There is also channel lock:

1. cable
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 7 3
4. press ch down to deactivate, ch up to activate
