Let's face it, we've all been there. You've waited patiently for days to get your brand new mx-3000 and it finally comes in the mail. You rip open the packaging, bust out the cd, install the IDE and..... Uh..... How do I make this thing work again?
In general, most of us home-brew folks had to go through a LOT of trial and error to get our remotes working exactly as we wanted them to (and even then, I learn new stuff here all the time, and so am constantly changing things around). I am trying to get a collection of tutorials, files and links that the budding home-brew mx-3000 programmer can use to get through the nuts and bolts of programming. Why, you ask? Mostly for grins.... I figure I might learn something along the way, as well.
So far I have written up tutorials for Variables and Anchors. I am working on a general steps to program your remote (though I am sure most of us figured that one out pretty easily thanks to the great menu system URC provides) that is a bit longer. I am also working on a more advanced version of the general steps tutorial but for programming a remote using a custom template.
So, on to the request. I am looking for further ideas on what tutorials to put up there. What was that one problem that held you back when you were first starting out? List them here, if you would and I will see about writing something up so that future generations of mx-3000 hackers will have an easier time of it.
Also, if you are interested in contributing any files or tutorials, or have a link that could be useful to budding mx-3000 programmers, please let me know.
Regards, -aedile-

Nice idea, but you'd be better served to post this in the Complete Control forum, where most of the MX-3000 discussion occurs. Also, you should download the MX-3000 Programming Manual which is available in the "Files" section of this site. Mike www.SurfRemoteControl.com
