I recently bought a couple of old iProntos and can't get either of them to connect to the Internet even though the network is recognized (as indicated in the signal strength meter). I've tried both DHCP and Fixed IP. Both of these systems have the old 1.5 firmware. Philips' Pronto website indicates that the latest firmware is still available for download, but I can't get it because the network connection fails. Does anyone know if there is an alternate way to install the latest firmware version?

iPronto firmware was *never* available for download. There was an online server for updates, but even it was taken down a few years before the Pronto line ended. Manual updates were never possible.
So, basically, there is NO way to update or repair firmware at this point.

Thanks Daniel. I knew that, but one hopes.

I do wish Philips had released enough about the iPronto update server back end so that people could still update their own remotes. For example, if someone wrote a little script or HTTP server that could intercept the requests and feed it the correct firmware file. But we don't even have the firmware files to attempt that with.
