The Harmony website's list of inputs for the Sony KDL32M3000 is nowhere close to what the TV has. I found a sister model 32LM130 that lists the correct inputs and most of the commands work with the M3000. The direct input selections in Device mode do nothing. Like many others on this board, I am now having trouble programming selection of inputs. I, too, am experiencing the out-of-sequence input selections when the remote has to use cycling to select inputs. The HELP mode does not fix the problem. I have played endlessly with the timing parameters with no success. All my previous (3) and current Sony TV's (52XBR & 32" WEGA) had/have discrete commands for input selections making setup a no-brainer. However, the options for this TV are: cycle through inputs using TV/Video button or access the menu.

Does anyone know where to get discrete codes that work on this TV or if they even exist? I am allergic to complicated macros.

Just for the record, I have had 2 Harmony 880's that have been through multiple configurations (with mostly Sony stuff) and this is really the first time that a little tweak here and there didn't fix things. I like my Harmony.

Thanks

Strange, Sony is usually very good at supporting discrete input commands for universal remotes, although the discrete commands may not be available on the original remote. Try "Confirm infrared commands" under Device > More Options. Maybe it will find a better IR dataset match.

I have a KDL-52X3100, which I believe should be similar to yours, and had no problem setting up descrete input selection. In fact, I was surprised it was so easy. Perhaps you need to try another match as suggested.

Hi John,

I recently purchased the KDL 52X3100 tv and the Harmony 1000i remote. I'm having trouble getting the TV to switch inputs between certain activities.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your post but it seems you are suggesting that the Sony 52X3100 supports discrete input selection? If so, I would very much appreciate if you could describe how you set that up with the Harmony remote. It is the only device giving me trouble!

Regards,

Lane

Select Method 2 (discrete method) in the Device Adjust inputs configuration. However, you should first try all the input commands (Inputxxx) in device mode paying attention to their behaviour (toggling/cycling vs discrete action) and making sure you select the ones with a discrete action. You can do the same for the device Adjust power settings.

Hi Jlet, thanks for your response.

There doesn't appear to be any commands starting with "Input" other than InputNext on both the remote and in the Logitech Remote Software (v7.3.2)

Any suggestions?

Lane, I checked the KDL-52X3100 command dataset and it's very limited (no input discrete command as your said). However, I also tried similar models like the KDL-40X3100 and the KDL-46X3100. Both have may discrete input commands. The 46 has even more than the 40. The 46 dataset is the same as for my KV-34XBR800. I suggest you add both the KDL-40X3100 and KDL-46X3100 to your configuration. Test their discrete commands in device mode to see which one is a better match for your TV. Keep the device you like and delete the others. I don't know what the Database Clean-Up Police is up to, but if you ever see a message saying these is an update available for a device, don't use their automatic update. Instead, manually add it to check it's dataset first. Chances are you will want to keep the old device.

John, you probably added your KDL-52X3100 device before the Database Clean-Up Police made its round. So heed my warning above.

Jlet,

You were spot on. The 46X3100 does have discrete input codes and they work with my 52X100 TV. Thankyou!

What a relief. Now everything switches quickly.

Appreciate your help on this. I'll let Logitech know so they can hopefully update their database.
