Hey everyone!
I've got a Toshiba SD-2800ku Dvd player and here's what it does.
Press Eject --> Tray opens part of the way then stops, then partly more, then stops, process continues until tray is all the way open.
Press Eject to close --> Tray closes part of the way then stops, then a bit more, then stops, until tray is completely closed.
Press Play --> Read error, disc doesn't spin properly.
What I've tried: Air blasting dust out of player Cleaning the lazer Cleaning connections
Still to no avail, it won't work! Same erros every time! Any ideas? Anyone??

Really seems like some sort of physical problem with the tray mechanism.

Most likely a stretched belt which opens/closes the drawer. The belt can usually be seen with the drawer open and sometimes easily replaced or cleaned.

We sometimes run across problems like this, especially with components that are not new. We have a technical term for this condition: Is broke.
How old is it? Is it still under warranty? I'd say a repair is due.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything. "The biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place." -- G. “Bernie” Shaw |
