Stop, stop, stop, play. You may have to pause 2 seconds between each command.

If you think you can or you can't your wright. |

i tried this on a toshiba, an onkyo and a yamaha with no success on x-men 2. when do you enter this sequence? do you have to do it every time or just once? i tried 6 or 7 different times on each machine at different stages of the disc loading,. i tried before i inserted the disc, i tried stopping the disc and then entering the code, all with no luck. any hints?

My undersanding was that you can't bypass the warning, only trailer, menu, etc. Am I wrong? Never bothered to try it.

Never heard of this "universal code" before, I suppose I should try it on my players. The settings for this are on the disc itself, so every one is different. Sometimes Stop works, sometimes FF, sometimes Skip, sometimes nothing will work. There are some players that will skip over the warnings, too. But I don't have a list or anything.
I generally try, in this order: Menu Skip Stop FF
If none work, I simply curse the studio and wait. These days I try to put the disc in early and give it time to get to the menu, so I don't have to wait once I sit down.

We have found that the STOP, STOP, PLAY only works on some DVDs. So we stopped doing this. It gives the customer the expectation it will work every time and then they wonder why it doesn't. Now we just turn the DVD player on and start the DVD by hitting the PLAY button. Most DVD players (Like Integra and JVC) will turn on and begin playing if you just send the PLAY command. At least it gets the DVD to a common point every time and you don't have to worry about any delays between a P-ON and PLAY.

yeah the stop, stop, play works on only some DVD's. There a re some though that will not allow you to stop the disc onces right after you start it. I love this feature but it sucks it only works on some DVDs.
to do this:
put disc in once it is recognized and starts playing you do the stop command two or three times then the play command immediately following. The movie should begin immediately with no menus or ads. The way it should be.

you can also use Slysoft's anyDVD program to bypass that stuff, but you'll need to copy the dvd.

That was too cool. Thanks for the tip guys, that stop, stop, play thing is awesome. My wife always complains how long it takes to get some of the kid's discs playing, but this starts them great.
Thanks again, Mark

I've just gotten used to watching them. And laughing at how the FBI will supposedly come up to Canada should someone do something improper... :-)
