Hello I have Panasonic PA20 and PX20 Discrete power on and off. They sent them to me in some strange KASEIKYO FORMAT With Custom Codes and Data Codes where do i put them to make them into hex or atleast drop them into a pronto?

From previous threads these models apparently do not have a discrete On command, yet all others while the 6UY models do not have discrete inputs. I suspect the files to be the same as others have gotten from Panasonic- however can you post the contents or email me the files and I'll attempt to decipher. dwg

AFAIK, the rest of the commands are also toggles and I suspect they are already all on the OEM remote. All 256 commands have been tried for Device 128 and both sub device 0 and sub-device 4 for 512 commands. I was hoping that there would be some clue to a new sub-device. I wish I had a better answer for you. -Jon

I also had that file, and it included Component 1, Component 2, PC/VGA etc.., I realize that Power is a toggle, but how would you convert the KASEIKYO FORMAT to say a Pronto Code. 11.AV INPUT 1 800 01 12.AV INPUT 2 800 02 13.AV INPUT 3 800 03 14.Component 1 804 7C 15.Component 2 804 7D 16.PC 1 800 7A Thanks in advance.

Mike Mike, I know nobody's answered you in a terribly long time. I'll answer it here to hopefully help others in the same boat. (I also have an MX-850 and a Panasonic LCD Projection TV and have been having the same issues.) To get hex codes into the MX-850: - Download prontoEdit4 from the Pronton original software section and install.
- run ProntoEdit
- It will come up asking if you want TSU-1000 or TSU-2000... for this operation, it probably doesn't matter, but chose TSU-2000 just so we're on the same page
- On the left-side, you should have HOME, DEVICES, and MACRO GROUPS
- right-click on DEVICES and chose "Add Device"
- Now, the DEVICES item will have a + next to it...
- click on the + to DEVICES
- now, right-click on the item called "device" and chose "Add Panel"
- This should bring up a panel window to the right
- right-click anywhere inside it and chose "Add Button"
- now, double-click on your new (rather ugly) button
- it will bring up a "Button Properties" window with tabs for "Actions, Properties, Icons, and colors"
- make sure you're in the Actions tab
- click "Set IR"
- click "View IR >>"
- PASTE your IR Hex into that text area
- Click OK
- You may optionally go back and put a label on by double clicking the "C []" line in the "Button Properties"|Actions window, then clicking the blank bar just below the word "Label"
- Click OK (twice) when you're done labeling to get back to "Button Properties"|Actions
- optionally, go to the Properties tab to add a VISIBLE label to the button (handy if you are doing multiples in one shot)
- click the blank bar uner the word "name" and give it a short but meaningful name
- click OK
- If you want the name to show up, you MUST chose a font from the dropdown list below the name box
- (you can change the location and sizing of the box in this screen as well)
- click OK and you now have your new button.
- if you have multiple buttons, it's possible to highlight your new button, control-c to copy, then control-v to paste.
(note: it pastes EXACTLY ON TOP of the other button, so once you paste, drag the button somewhere else on the window to uncover the original) - It's MUCH quicker to copy/paste like that and then just edit the buttons, changing the name and code without having to go through all those little steps
- When you're happy, save the file.
- NOW, open your MX-850 editing program
- on the menu icons bar below the menu with "File, Program, Communications, Help", go to the second-to-the-right icon (looks like a square with a triangle, square and circle inside it and it's just to the LEFT of a thing that looks like a satellite dish)
- That's the Universal Browser... click it
- that pops open a new window
- use the OPEN icon to browse to any CCF file on your system (in this case, the file you created in the last section)
- you will have to drill down to your device and the panel you created
- now, DRAG AND DROP the button you created to a button on the image of your MX-850, and the LEARNED DATA that you entered in will be copied over.
(NOTE this will NOT work with codes from the Pronto buit-in database... only those you learn or manually paste the hex into)
