hi all -

i was wondering if anyone had discrete codes for powering on & off the following:

onkyo receiver
panasonic vcr
sony tv

even if i get them i'm not 100% sure how to implement them so if you have any advice on that that would be cool too!

thanks!

To use discrete codes on an MX500, you'll have to get another remote- a Cinema 7 or RS1994, learn the code on that, then teach it to the MX500.

Rob's website has all the codes for the components you've listed- http://www.hifi-remote.com

ok, so I've gone to www.hifi-remote.com and looked through the site. I still don't really understand this discreet code stuff (and the "device codes" and the "advanced codes").

I know I need to get another remote to supplement my MX-500 like the Cinema7, etc. But where do you start doing research on really recent devices (like plasma screens, etc) and for functions other than on/off (like Audio->set to DVD)? I'm feeling like kind of a dummy here, sorry about that...but, help!?!
