Hi I tried using IR Tool to see the format of the following: Power: 0000 006B 0000 002A 0020 005B 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 12C7 0020 005B 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0026 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 0041 000F 04ED Device: 1.0 EFC: 189 In Makehex there is no selection for this. I followed one of the guides ina previous thread to decode this, but am lost with the above info being reported back. Required is Power On and Power Off discrete. Any hints as to what to do next?

Sure, Please learn and post here all of the IR signals. The Pronto Hex you posted looks like a clean learn, but it is unusual. It appears to have a lead in, 20 bits of device/function data and a lead out. The data is 00011100000001111111, and it is tempting to say there are three bits of device data, the complement of the device, 7 bits of function data, and the complement of the function data. But with only one function decoded, the actual split between device data and function data may actually be different. Or there is a toggle bit, or..... If you'll learn and post lots of functions, I'll write a IRP file to send arbitrary function numbers. BTW, Metz equipment has been decoded before, but the decodes I've seen are not the same as this.

We need to check if there is a toggle bit. Here's how I think it is looking: Metz 0: 0 001110 000000 111111 Toggle=0, Device 15, Function 0 Metz 1: 1 001110 000001 111110 Toggle=1, Device 14, Function 1 Metz 2: 0 001110 000010 111101 Toggle=0, Device 14, Function 2 Metz Cursor Down :0 001110 010111 101000 Toggle=0, Device 14, Function 23 Metz Cursor Up: 0 001110 010110 101001 Toggle=0, Device 14, Function 22 Metz Menu: 1 001110 100101 011010 Toggle=1, Device 14, Function 37 To see if the first bit is a toggle bit, please learn the same signal 4 times. Digit 9 would be good. When you release the teaching remote's 9 button, the toggle bit should change state. I'll be working up an IRP file in the meantime.

I have a PDF about their protocol here. It has a toggle bit.

OK, so I was wrong about the device. It is really device 1. Looks like the function codes were correct. The PDF Jason linked (thanks!) has all the function codes, and it looks like Off is hex 32 or 50 decimal, and On is 33 hex, or 51 decimal. Try these: Off Device Code: 1 (0x01) Function: 50 (0x32) 0000 006D 0000 0015 0020 0059 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 1295 On Device Code: 1 (0x01) Function: 51 (0x33) 0000 006D 0000 0015 0020 0059 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 0041 0010 0041 0010 0024 0010 0024 0010 1295 The irp file: Device=1 Function=0..63 Define T=0 Protocol=Metz19 Frequency=37900 Time Base=106 '106 = 4 cycles at 37.9Khz Zero=4,-9 One=4,-16 Prefix=8,-22 Suffix=4,-1180 First Bit=MSB Form=;*,T:1,D:3, ~D:3,F:6,~F:6,_
