Okay:

I've got an Impact Acousticts Component/Optical Switcher. They have provided me with codes as shown above, which I desperately need to convert into Pronto format (a.k.a. 0000 0000 0000 0000)

I've got absolutely NO idea how to do this - and am now quite desperate, as this switch is the lynchpin of a rather large system and right now I'm dead in the water!

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Here's the info.

Impact Acoustics (Shin Kin OEM) Cables to Go P/N 40697 Mfg P/N CAS-62RH)
Frequency 38KHz
Wavelength 940nm
Custom Code 10EF

1FE0 (Power On)
5FA0 (Power Off)
12ED (Channel 1 - output 1)
0AF5 (Channel 2 - output 1)
49B6 (Channel 3 - output 1)
09F6 (Channel 4 - output 1)
42BD (Channel 5 - output 1)
06F9 (Channel 6 - output 1)

I've posted a reply to a similar question here. You can use the same application for your codes.

In your case, the device number is 16. Also, for the function number for each of the function you listed, just use the first two digit of the hex and covert it to decimal (i.e. Power On is 1F = 31 decimal).

Okay - my apologies - but I'm a bit of a moron when it comes to this stuff. Which of the .IRP files (from those which I extracted) to I make the modifications to?

Modify "NEC1.irp" and it will create a file called "NEC1.hex". Open the .hex file in a text editor, like notepad.

What about all this stuff? Do I just leave it?

And where do I put the IR codes which need to be translated into Pronto (like e.g)

Yes, leave everything else except the "Device=" line. Change that to "Device=16" and also leave the "Function=0..255" alone too.

You might want to try it to see how it works, but here are the Pronto codes for the functions you listed above:

Oh my gosh! Thanks so much for doing this. I had tested what you suggested and got pretty much to the same place. Now a new problem. For some reason, when I place these codes into the Pronto the IR emitter ISN'T EVEN LIGHTING UP when I depress the appropriate button.

Very, very strange. Any thoughts?
