Hi,

I have the Marantz A/V Receiver SR8001, and I want to know if its possible to change between HDMI-1 and HDMI-2 Output with a IR remote control without using the receiver setup menu. In the Marantz web, they have the document name “SR8001_RCCODE_A0721-FRS-000-108”, and I have the RC codes:

[HDMI Out Ch Toggle] CODE: 16 120 00 HDMI Output Channel CH1<->CH2 (Only SR8001)
[HDMI Out Ch1] CODE: 16 120 01 HDMI Output Channel CH1 (Only SR8001)
[HDMI Out Ch2] CODE: 16 120 02 HDMI Output Channel CH2 (Only SR8001)

I’m try to convert in hex codes using ProntoEdit4 and Wizzit9 software, but it doesn’t work.

I’ve tried this one:
RC5:
System: 16
Command: 120
IR code Result: 5000 0000 0000 0001 0010 0078 – Not work.

If I make the same with Mute code Works!!
[MUTE] CODE: 16 13 Mute On & Off ( toggle action)
RC5
System: 16
Command: 13
IR Code Result: 5000 0000 0000 0001 0010 000d – It work

Someone can help me?

Thanks.

It should be RC5x commands. Is that not what it says in the documentation?

It's device 16.120 command 00

command 01

and

command 02

You could make these in Makehex, I haven't used the Wizz.It software in ages. Here's what I got in the Wizz.It software for command 00

5001 0000 0000 0002 0010 0078 000C 0000

I'll try later in Makehex and also reference the documentation from Marantz's site and see what I can come up with also.
Why all the fighting and cussing? Can't Dave play nice? We're just here to learn and have fun. It was a harmless jab, laugh and get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW... S-E-A-R-C-H!!!
or do the work!!!

I've been trying this one, but it doesn't work:

5001 0000 0000 0002 0010 0078 000C 0000

Thanks.

I don't have that documentation anywhere and I checked Marantz's site to find it. Could you please email it to me or provide me with the link where you found it so that I can research it further? Thanks!

I want to change between HDMI1 or HDMI2 outputs with my remote control. I only can change it with the setup menu.

It's device 16.120 command 00

5001 0000 0000 0002 0010 0078 000C 0000

Why are you puting that 000C in the second to last position? Shouldn't that be 0001 or 0002?

I believe the second to last postition corresponds to "function" in MakeHex RC5x.irp and to the third (of three) numbers Marantz doccuments for an RC5x command.

I'm sure the last position in the 5001 string is just filler (the 0000 in that position has no meaning).

In most RC5x commands, the third value (as documented) is a data value for a discrete. The first value (0010 in this example) identifies the device. The second (0078 in this example) identifies the thing to be modified (unclear to me from this thread: HDMI output select?). The third value is the data to be forced into whatever thing is identified by the second. Usually that data is something simple like 0000 for off or 0001 for on. Here it seems to be 0001 for ch1 or 0002 for ch2.

John, I honestly haven't ever used Wizz.It other than to get the codes I need to convert in Makehex. I just took a guess on how to enter the data.

To the OP, these are the codes created in John's awesome program called Makehex. Try them out and let us know if it works!

Still no response to the question about input selection.

Surely as soon as you assign inputs to the source, you are able to use the switching of the amp to make it happen.
Sticking to what I'm good at.

The switching works OK if I change the HDMI Output by the setup menu, but I'm asking about the posibility to change it with the remote control without using the setup menu. With the Marantz remote control, you don't have this option, but in the Marantz web they have the RC5 codes to do it.

Either you need the firmware update mentioned above or maybe I just can't seem to make commands for overseas devices. Don't know which one it is.
