Spectrum DVR stopped showing a picture on the Sony TV, cable channels worked fine. Ran a new HDMI cable from the DVR directly to the Sony TV bypassing the Denon receiver, still didn't work. Connected a 20" Samsung TV directly to the DVR and it worked. Reconnected everything back the way it was DVR-Denon-Sony TV and it started working again.

What did the Samsung TV tell the DVR to let it pass a signal to the Sony TV?

Thoughts?

Sounds like there was an HDMI Sync issue. When you ran a new cable did you have both the TV and DVR turned OFF or just plugged the new cable into each unit? Did you try power cycling both units before running the new cable trying the Samsung TV?

The Samsung TV would have likely sent a different/new Sync command to the DVR in which the DVR acknowledged and provided picture. Moving back to the Sony which would have then sent a different/new sync command than the Samsung would have re-initiated the video signal to it.
You can't fix stupid

Yes, powered cycled the DVR and the Samsung TV. Also did the same with the Sony TV with no luck.
