What are you using?

My bedroom TV only has 2 HDMI inputs.
I'm feeding one from maxed out HDMI matrix and the other one is used by locally located Roku3.

I need 3rd input for Control4 OSD.

Just looking for simple, IR controllable (serial or IP OK as well) HDMI 2x1 switcher.
No 4k needed.

Binary 3 or 5 input switcher, works very well with C4.

Pretty much anything would work as long as it has discrete IR codes. We use the ones from Snap with no issues.

I keep hoping C4 will launch an app (or "channel" in Roku land) for Roku/Apple TV/Amazon Fire/Android TV, etc.

Ethereal's new (new this year) 3x1 HDMI switch is great. And it is cheap, about the same price as Snap's 3x1 HDMI switch.

NOTE: I will never touch those Snap HDMI switches again. The above experience comes from having a Snap 3x1 HDMI switch installed. I had a URC MX-780 with a MRF-350 base station, that was locking up - major RF interference from somewhere. It turned out to be the f^n POS Snap HDMI switch. Pulled it out and all interference went away. Got the Ethereal HDMI switch and installed it, everything still worked perfect.
Personal experience = get the Ethereal HDMI switch.

I've had issues with the Snap 5x1 switchers recently.  If I connect a device to input 1 on them, I get no picture.  If I move the device to input 5, that usually clears things up.  This usually happens with DirecTV receivers, but I've had it happen to a couple DVD players as well.  It basically turns it into a 4x1 since I can't trust the first port.  I need to find a new brand to use.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Just a question. Why? The idea of turning on a tv and waiting on it, then selecting what you want next bothers me. Not that it does you. Kind of like my new truck. Turn it on then have to wait on the AC. Faster fan speed. Change already, I moved the dial.Turn the f..k on already. Rear view camera, shut the f..k off already. I want my radio controls. Sh.t takes too long these days. Speaking of that hold on"...... Ok back. Where was I. Looks like others already answered.

Because while I can figure out how to use 43 different apps on my tablet to check the weather, adjust temperature on 7th T-Stat, set the security system and watch the front yard camera; my wife can not.

She can however hit the BIG red 4 button and navigate from there.

And, because she can do that, next time I have a potential client at the house, she can tell Mrs. Smithto get whatever I tell her she needs to make her system easy.
I can literally talk for hours about 'coolness ' of the system and show/demo things -- then my wife walks into the room and says 'oh yeah, even I can use that", and in 5 seconds she has them sold.
