Has anyone else experienced a problem with the CA-LCD Russound Keypad not recognizing (or repeating) Dish Network IR codes.
I'm using a Dish Network Receiver for music and I can't get the CA-LCD or the CA-DSC that connects to it to recognize Dish Network IR (it doesn't even flash the IR confirmation LED).
Interesting enough, the old keypads repeat it fine.

Any input of work arounds?

Dave

For ther record, The Dish Network UHF remote controls are SIMULTANEOUS IR/UHF (i.e. they send out both IR and UHF codes when you press a button). So, that is not the problem.
To further reinforce the fact that that is not the problem, I operate the system with a Pronto TSU2000 and have tried to operate through the IR receiver in the keypads with the Pronto remote (which it does in the room and with my Xantech IR system), it repeats all the functions on the Pronto I've tried except the Dish codes (doesn't even blink the IR confirm light on the keypad (once again, it does on the old style Russound Keypads I have on the same system AND on my Xantech system upstairs)).

Interesting dilemma Dave. I haven't had any experience using the Dish Network with the CA-LCD so I can't help you out there. I did do a Russound system last week using a Mitsubishi Direct TV receiver and had no problem with the CA-DSC recognizing and learning the codes. I am going back to that house next week to finish up the keypad out at the pool, so I'll try to bring a Dish Network remote along to see if it will work for me.

Dave,

Sorry, have not had the same problem.

Just finished a customers house with the CA 6.4 LCD system and Dish Network satellite receivers. Customer also has 4 one-for-all universals and a ProntoPro. He ha two Dish receivers in his main cabinet, including a 301 and a 501 on different addresses. ALL remotes work fine in all zones. We even have double emitters, as we're actually controlling more devices than we need to (long story)...

Have noticed some general issues with DISH IR though IE: Some Pronto and other remote programming works great in one system, then not worth a #$#% in the next...I have found that a LOT of patience and teaching the codes VERY carefully and testing them ALOT have been the only ways around it.

I do know that several of the IR commands are issued on the RELEASE of the remote button, not the press. Experienced this EXTENSIVELY with the Inteelinet RS-1000 system....had to program about half them buttons to issues the ir on the release and not the press...

Dave,
My buddy had the same problem when he programmed a TC1000 to control a dish network reciever. He ended up getting a Pronto TSU2000 and it works with no problems yet. I don't know if it emits brighter or what, but it works.
