I've used pioneer products for a couple of years with no problems using sl-9000s and prontos. But I would like to try Denon. Will I have problems with IR codes and the like? Will never forget problems with our Toshiba TV line and Pronto remotes.

As long as you are talking about new Denon equipment, you should be fine. This line has all power discretes, inputs, surround modes...you name it. I haven't had a problem with Denon one bit.
