BTW, the virtual machine approach is also very helpful for those running Macs. There are multiple hypervisor options there two, Parallels and VMware Fusion being the most common ones I've seen. VirtualBox also supports OSX.

It is your fault if you bought it knowing that it doesn't support it.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but who runs out and buys a Microsoft system when it first comes out? If Windows Millennium didn't teach you anything I am sure Vista did... I agree with the fact that URC software is not as user friendly regarding loading mechanisms and drivers as others, but come on! Windows 8 is a really weak attempt to make a user friendly interface like Apple. You would have been better off buying an Apple and running VM. EVERYONE in this business should keep a copy of XP around for those situations.

By the way, if you check out URC's control room there are some who are clever enough to have figured out a way to sync with a work-around.

URC needs to hire those people!

Flew out the CA to install a video wall using an XP6 for control. Picked up a new unit at A@#D that morning and couldn't connect to update the firmware. After several hours and multiple tech support calls, I'm informed that it needed to be replaced.

Had to go back to the dist. the next morning and replace. It caused a full day delay in the project.

Never say Never :)

Hardware failure! That doesn't count!
