I have a brick knee wall behind my sofa with cutout's of 8 x 11 I have just redone my theater and replaced front inwalls with Klipsch reference series bookshelf and matching center. It does not seem that Klipsch makes inwalls that will fit in my cutouts and I am trying not to cut the brick as that will be a major mess. I currently have crappy Altec Lansing's. What makes and model would you guys suggest. My A.L.'s sound tinny and hollow while the Klipsch sound amazing. I have a Pioneer 850 receiver with a Bryston amp driving the center and an Adcom amp driving the mains. Right now the Pioneer is driving the rears. Thanks for your input.

for a small powerd receiver like tha try the Angstrom dipoles they are surface mount and fire off axis , nice rear fill.
you might want to locate your sub if you have one in the rear also.

My sub Velodyne SPL 12B (1500 watts) is located on the right brick knee wall. I have no problem with the sub but I would like to use the cutouts instead of surface mount. I posted the question here becuase I thought some of you guys might know of good speakers that would fit in my cutouts.

are the cutouts open behind where the speaker cut outs are ?. meaning is there a small cavity (dead air behind them)or open wall ? if not open you might need a closed speaker , without air behind them they will never sound good. I'll see if i have time to check some specs today or tomarrow . (no gaurentees :-)

I have thin pieces of wood attached to the brick. I have screws going through the speakers outer hard plastic shell into the wood.

Is it exactly 8x11, Sonance's Symphony Series takes a cutout of 7-1/16" x 11-1/4", the overall product is larger. You may be better of turning the cutout into a pocket, and placing a bookshelf speaker in the void. You'll have more products to work from, and the dimensions will be less critcal. Be sure to fill the remaining space when done, and make sure the front baffle of the loudspeaker is flush w/ the wall.

Thanks for the help but I have a pair of Speakercraft MT 3's on the way. I am going to fill the brick inside with either foam or insulation.
