I was trying to download info from the "Touch Screen Setup" to my remote, when I pressed "Cancel" This has locked up my remote. All it does now is beep every 10 seconds. A generic screen that says something like "Marantz programable remote" pops up once in a while as well, but i can't do anything. Please let me know if there is anything that can be done

You might try posting your question in the Pronto/RC5000 forum.

you need to do a firmware update...conect your rs232
port open touch screen program go to tools select
firmware update... it will stall keep doing it it may take several tries ( 6 or more) keep doing it untill it resets the remote back to original configuration.

Reason firmware and software were designed at different time doing firmware update first avoids this lock up problem

Also, see Pronto FAQ # A4-10.

FAQ A4-10 is THE answer to this problem. I had the same thing occur.

One detail that I missed until Daniel clued me in, though -- in Step 7, you want to start to download the file while the screen is showing a growing list of C's. The program/Pronto is listening for a download while the C list grows. Once it stops, the download will not start. To facilitate this, place your ccf in a location that is easy to get to from a blank "Browse" window, such as on the Desktop.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
