OK, I have posted this problem before and I seemed to have fixed the problem the first time but get e load of this one. I have mostly IR's in my home and one keypad on the first floor. Here is the weird thing. When the halagen lights in the dinning room corner cabinets are on, I loose IR comunication. The light transformer is pluged into an outlet in one of the cabinets. The outlet is switched at the entrance of the room with a dimmer switch. The closest IF to the dimmer in in another room and about 10' away. Could this dimmer be the problem??? Also, in the same wall as the dimmer I have a Cat5 wire for a future keypad that runs to the punchdown, could this pickup interference? The only time I have a problem is when the lights are on.

Is this common and could I correct the problem by changing the dimmer switch to a single pole switch? Or is the problem with the transformer?

Thank

Your IR problem may be the halogen lights...they emit IR.
Try a standard incandescent lamp in the same outlet.

Try unpunching the cat 5 wire (at the punch down block)you have run up to the dimmer J-Box and see if it goes away.

Also, I'm no hallogen expert, but those devices may not like their transformers put on a dimmer circuit - you might want to contact that manufacturer and see what they say, or try substituting miniature incandescents that can be dimmed without generating lots of noise.
