Anybody got any cool Crestron graphics they'd like to share. I'm looking for unique transport buttons, TV channel logos etc. Kind of like all the ccf files that are out there.
How hard can this be?

Thon,

What I suggest is going to google or another search engine and put free graphics for your search words. There are several links for free graphics that could be used.

Are you a commercial dealer or an independent programmer? Or would it be for personal use? I have a graphics set that I have done through photoshop that seems to look very nice and polished. It is somewhat reminiscent of the buttons from an XP or Mac OSX style. All buttons are bitmaps, so will take up more memory in your project than normal. Let me know if you are interested.

Hi Tom -

As a Crestron DIYer who's "artistically challenged",
I'd be very interested in your graphics set. If you
are willing to share, please drop me a line at:

Thanks,

What I (and several others) have done is to download AMX's TPDesign 3.xx (www.amxcorp.com - go to the Software Center located under Dealer support) which comes with a library of descent looking transport icons (both for active and non-active state), devices, etc. Put them on a page, export the page as a bitmap, then use some graphics tool (Paint will work) to crop the desired images. Very time consuming but once you have them, Crestron things will look much better. Be sure to use Crestron's ability to hide the background color to keep them looking good.
Crestron's standard "font" based transports look very cheap and bad.

Tom-

I'm in the middle of doing my first Crestron 1550c panel, and am having a heck of time getting it to look decent. All the graphics I've always used on AMX Viewpoints are just not transferring gracefully... I've fiddled with dither/non dither, compress-on-upload, normal size/stretch, different color depths, etc., and still look pretty rough.

I'm not sure what level of wonderfulness I should expect given this pre-Isys panel's limitations, but I'd be interested in seeing yours and/or getting your advice.

I am a residential dealer so I really don't stray much from my little corner of the world. If you're still uncomfortable, I'll agree not to re-use your graphics even locally without permission.

Thanks!

Barry

I have sevral tips for getting decent looking graphics on a touchpanel and will post it to the crestron group later this week. In the meantime I'd be willing to trade graphics/TP designs/programs with anyone who's interested.

WJS is right, AMX seems to be far better with their TP design program than Crestron. They have built in Icons for alot of stuff, and an emulator.

As far as graphics go I use photoshop and have many channel logos on transparency and suitable size and quality (I'm a perfectionist) for any touchpanel from the 1550s to the Isys panels. Tom I'd be interested in whatever you've got, and anyone else interested please e-mail me at -
