Which PS3 control would you recommend? My ultimate goal is to develop a web interface for the ipad that will be linked to the PS3 control and linked to the PS3.

I was thinking of sending RS232 codes from the web app to the PS3 control, but as I've understood no PS3 control is yet able to receive RS232 codes, isn't it? So that means that I will have to add an IR transmitter to my PC so the web app will send IR codes to the PS3 control. Is there any other way to make life easier?

Tx

Ivan

The IR2BTci was supposed to be working on adding RS232 input support (versus the existing ability to control other RS232 devices). I'm not sure if it's done, or what the status currently is.

The Schmartz 1000 can also control the PS3 via USB; there might be a way to tag onto that.

Hi Ivan. If you are looking to control the PS3 with an iPad there are a few options available now. ThinkFlood RedEye, I-Got-Control IRB1, New Kinetix Re and others all have APPS and low-cost hardware attachments for the iPad and they all have the IR codes in their libraries for the PS3 IR to Bluetooth adapters including the RE-BL X, Schmartz PS3IR1000 and Audio Authority BlueBeam.

Since you mentioned the web app you may want to look at the ThinkFlood RedEye. That will allow you to use their APP to send commands wirelessly to the RedEye base station over your Wifi network with no hardware attached to the PS3. Add a PS3 solution and you're all set
