Hi
I am novice in IR. I am trying to set discete codes for HDMI inputs on samsung LN40A450 LCD tv.

I found a replay from samsung tech support in an other forum but I do not know how to convert it to Pronto HEX format.

this are the codes I found and need to add to my pronto project:

discreet on 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x02
discreet off 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x01

TV 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00
Comp1: 0x0a 0x00 0x03 0x00
Comp2: 0x0a 0x00 0x03 0x01
Comp3: 0x0a 0x00 0x03 0x02

HDMI1: 0x0a 0x00 0x05 0x00
HDMI2: 0x0a 0x00 0x05 0x01
HDMI3: 0x0a 0x00 0x05 0x02
HDMI4: 0x0a 0x00 0x05 0x03

Is this NECx2 format? if so what is the device code and the function code?

I own a Samsung PN58B860 which does have 4 HDMI inputs and 1 Component input. The discrete codes I use for these are listed below. Perhaps they will work per your Samsung display as well.

HDMI 1 / DVI:
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AB 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0689

HDMI 2:
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AB 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0689

I'm not sure on that. Sorry. PHSJason per the "Samsung Codes" thread might be able to help you with that though. I'm sure there are others as well. Perhaps someone else will chime in on this for you. Good luck.

They look like RS232 Hex Codes and not IR Codes. So you can not use them for IR Commands.

See Post2 for more Hex Codes.[Link: remotecentral.com]

The codes provided above by Lowpro are good for IR remote control and they did work pretty good in my customer's Samsung LN52A650 with the Nevo S70.

Hope this additional information can help someone

Lowpro's hex codes worked great for me. The HDMI commands are actually discreet, which was hard for me to find. The "standard" HDMI1 command will toggle between RF and HDMI..and even HDMI2 on some models. Thanks Lowpro!

You're welcome. You can download and open my TSU9600 configuration file in PEP v1 as well if you like to see if any of the other Sammy codes I'm using might be useful to you. If interested just hit up my forum profile which contains a link to the thread in question. Once opening the file in PEP v1 you'll find the codeset I'm using for my Samsung plasma under the device named, "Pronto Signals (Samsung PN58B860 / 3.3 IR)" which is located in the "Pronto Signals" section of the device tree down at the bottom.
