After seeing this firmware upgrade [Link: files.remotecentral.com] and the subsequent 7.3.3 firmware update indicate or at least seem to indicate that Prontoscript is active on TSU9300, has anyone verified this actually works?

Here is what daveleger posted last year:

"Here is the firmware updater for the TSU-9300 with the ProntoScript flag turned on. Please note it is version 7.0.18.

Just to clarify, this is not a hack but just an edit of a config file that Pronto has in the "opt" partition of the remote's flash. The variable is called SF_SCRIPTING and I set it from 0 to 1. You can test this yourself with the simulator in it's data/product-TSU9300.conf file. The file has a clear comment above it indicating that it enables ProntoScript and it is used as an input to the Pronto GUI application that runs on the screen."

Thoughts?

Thanks!!

I don't believe the later firmware updates on this site have the change Dave mentions to enable script.

So it seems as though Dave has enabled this in that previous version, correct? If so could it not be as easily "fixed" in 7.3.3

Version 7.3.3 lists as fixes to prontoscript in its description, maybe it is enabled there too!

This is potentially very huge! Considering years of not having Prontoscript.

If you want to hack the file system in the firmware, be my guest. Script is NOT enabled in the 9300 in the 7.3.3 version available on this site.

But the one that Dave has created seems to have script Enabled, correct? Or am I reading it incorrectly?

Right. That specific file has it enabled. None of the others do, and no one has submitted a newer version that does.

So I am going to try this firmware update to include ProntoScript. Knowing this firmware is an older version , what standard features will I lose out on by not having the latest firmware?

I assume I can't use PEP3 and lose a rotary knob feature I believe (I think the latest firmware updating something with this). On the bright side I can add new features using script I think.

Will I be losing out on anything else?

Thanks!
