I have 2 Pronto TSU9400s with a RFX9400.
All have static IPs
All IPs are outside of my DHCP range
WPA2/WAP setting selected
Using Channel 11
Linksys Router
Vudu App running on it that connects over IP
HAI - home automation app connects over IP

Like most I lose connection resting off of the cradle. It is a little frustrating waiting to connect.

My question is, if it is not possible to improve my connection with WPA2/WPA.

Can I set up a seperate WiFi (Non Secure) with no security that connects to my current WPA WiFi (Secure) in such a way that my HAI app on the pronto could tunnel to the (Secure) network?

I need my HAI App to work as I use it all of the time from my Pronto. However I need to improve my connection speed.

I can tell you that most have had the best success running their Pronto gear over WEP instead. In my case I continue to run my Pronto equipment using WEP128 as my router provides for both WEP and WPA. Have not had a single network related issue with any of my Pronto gear as a result which I've been using since the Pronto Professional line was first introduced. Currently have 5 RFX9600's, 1 RFX9400, 3 TSU9600's and 1 TSU9400 actively up on my network. No issues with losing connection or having to sit there and wait for one to be established for whatever reason. You're results may vary of course. Someone else will need to chime in regarding WPA as I never tried using WPA with my Pronto year. In fact, I'm still using PEP v1 exclusively which only supports WEP.

Are you saying that your router allows you to connect WEP and WPA at the same time. Or are you saying it gives you both options and you chose WEP. Also, would you mind sharing what router you use?

Yes. I have a dual band wireless router. The first band I have configured for WEP128 which I use for all my Pronto remotes and any other wireless devices on my home network that don't support WPA. The second band I have configured for WPA which I'm using with any mobile devices that support WPA in addition to guest devices brought into my home on occassion. All other devices on my home network use ethernet which includes all of my RFX9x00 extenders. See below.

Router: NetGear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (Model: WNDR3700)

1. Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n)
Security Option: WEP
Security Encryption: 128-bit

2. Wireless Network (56Hz a/n)
Security Option (WPA2-PSK)

Wow, I didn't realize these existed. This would solve it. Thank you.
