I have a Visor with the OmniRemote Springboard module. That gives me about a 45 deg. dispersion range when controlling my equipment. I sit about 10 feet from my setup so I can point the Visor about 10 feet to the left of it and still have it work.
My Pronto, on the other hand, has a dispersion range of 360 deg.;-) The signal is widely dispersed but it is also strong enough to effectively bounce off the walls and ceiling so it doesn't matter where I point it. (Actually, that is only true for some of my equipment. My Toshiba TV likes a pretty accurately aimed signal even from its own remote.)
I wouldn't worry about dispersion or signal strength when using the Visor with the Springboard module. In practice if works great for me.
