First thanks for all the past help in this forum.
The last time I had to make changes to my MX-980 was before the burn. Now that I am getting a new S95D I am looking for some advice on how I can get it added. My CCP version is 3.9.xxxx.x so it's been a while. I know I can't update to the latest version or be locked out so a few questions.
1) Is there a way to update just the IR DB? 2) Is there a Samsung Model # I can use which would have what I need? 3) Has there been other changes for WIN10 besides correcting the Services to run local to get CCP to work? MDC is installed.
Thanks in advance. Micro.

The codes for Samsung (like many of the big TV brands) have not changed in decades [with Sony being the wild card recently apparently]. Only new features required codes that will not be in old databases. But if you are using the TV as a monitor (like you should), then you only need ON, OFF, and Inputs. Which should be in the old database.
As for the MX980, if you have problems connecting with Win10, there are several threads here on things to try. I always avoided the 980's so I never had to deal with that.

I do seem to remember that there was some quarky codes with Samsung TV inputs. Meaning; some models would have some of the HDMI input codes but missing 2 out of the 4. Don't remember if it was a URC database issue or a Samsung issue. Probably a Samsung issue, so your new TV will probably respond to all the input codes fine.

Thanks Brad, everything worked great with a different model.
Any idea if there is a model which has all the streaming apps as they do for Hulu and Prime?
I have been searching but can't seem to find any so far.
Thanks

I have a Samsung J8500 from 2017, could never get a discrete code for HDMI4, the ARC one.
I gave up and wrote a macro as I assumed it did not exist, but if it does exist and anyone has it, pleaase advise.
Thanks

656 is the Samsung code forever.
When HDMI4 did not work, a firmware upgrade for the TV fixed it.
