I am trying to run the Residential Complete Control Program 4.0.1106.2 (which I have obviously not used in a while).
I am now getting an error during startup "An attempt was made to access an unnamed file past its end."
When I try to use the IR Database it fails with a similar error message "Seek failed on an unnamed file"
Does this mean my database is corrupt or gone? What is the path and/or filename supposed to be so I can locate and examine it?

if you check for an update, there is a box that will show up that gives you an Integrity Check option. Running that might fix your issue.Beware that if you don't have a URC login, updating CCP to the latest version will lock you out of it.if you have a very old version of CCP that doesn't have the Live Update option, then you'll probably have to do a clean install to fix the issue.

Looks like I'm screwed then, because I'm no longer a dealer. I have an old installer but that version doesn't work properly with my saved layout files, and I can't do a live update. Where is the IR database stored on the computer? I would like to check if the file is missing or corrupt, as I might have a backup.

I tried installing my original version on another PC and the IR database is "working" but too old and I still don't know which file it is. I looked here but didn't see anything obvious: C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\Complete Control Program Also when I open my saved layouts in the older version I get this shrunken text size problem all over again: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Just to let everyone know URC support helped me fix it. I submitted a ticket through their portal and Tech Support called me a couple days later. The question about where the database file is was never answered - they just let me in the portal to run the update on the entire program.
Good service!

I dont know if your issue is similar to what I had. When i got locked out of ccp software, I installed the old version but it would not upload to my remote anymore - because the content of the remote had been uploaded by the updated version of the ccp. So, I downloaded the content from the remote and made changes that I wanted and uploaded it from the old ccp and it worked. bottom line: Download the conent of your remote. Modify it as you want and upload it.

No, I could upload my saved programs no problem but there were no IR codes to browse in the database. I could install a really old version or do a full update that required access to the portal, which URC kindly provided.
