Hello All,

The laptop my software and files are on is slowly dying. Since CCP is account based now instead the old system that was more hard drive based, and I went through the process a while back with URC and I have a login, is it a problem to migrate everything to a new laptop? Wondering if the access they've granted me is only limited to that one software issue, and it would be an easy way for them to shut me off. I can probably nurse the old laptop if I have to, but I'm worried I'll try to power it up one day and get crickets. Also, since it's account based, is it still only windows compliant or will it work on a mac? Thought I'd ask someone before trying it.

Thanks as usual for the help. Apologies if this is in another thread, but a search didn't yield anything.

You'll be fine moving to a new laptop, I just did it a few months ago. As long as you have a login, no problem getting the software to work on a new laptop. Can't comment on the Mac issue.

Thank You!!

Is there a unique URL or do I just go to their site and login?

When you open the software after installation, it will simply ask for your user ID and password.

CCP will only run in Windows. However, it will run on a Mac if you have Parallels and a Windows virtual machine. If the Mac is an M1, M2 or M3 processor you will need Windows 11 for ARM which is about $200. A regular version of windows won't run. You can download Windows 11 during the installation of Parallels. I run the Standard version of Parallels which doesn't have an annual subscription price. I just switched to Mac silicon earlier this year and have Parallels 18. 19 is out but I don't need to upgrade. Won't upgrade for several years.
