You need the IR-543 (ugly wired remote with IR blaster) and you have to set it to A or whatever letter you use. (as long as they're all the same)
Your RF X-10 remote(s) will still work RF. I own the mx980/mrf350 and use it for a 14 X-10 devices setup and it works like a charm. If you set your remote on RF you need the RF base station, otherwise it sends RF but there's no destination.
I go RF from the remote to the rfx250 wired from rfx250 to mrf350 IR from mrf350 to IR-543 and RF from IR-543 to lights/fan/appliances.
Is that clear?
You can simply go IR to the 543 an it will go RF to your lights.
