Yeah got ya, I called and the guy said send the receipt
for proof. I just don't get it. I may send it back and
get a Logitech! This is just to hard for a $600 remote.
This company should look into other practices to get
the programming software. This really cant be that big
of a deal!
Very disappointing!
yeah its frustrating for many. the issue is that this unit is NOT intended to be sold at a retail level, but more so by custom installers with a working knowledge of the SW to program it for you. now that being said, if you're looking to program it yourself (as i and many here have) any decent liscenced dealer will sell you the unit with the software and send you on your way. if your dealer is giving you a hard time then he's a crappy dealer and as mentioned you should send it back and buy it from s/one reputable.
however, i wouldnt consider asking you for a fax/email copy of the reciept is by any means giving you a hard time before providing the SW, as you could be any joeblow ebayer just looking to get the SW for free! i would also agree the harmony is a huge step down as far as programability, so i'd definately make the effort to get this unit up and running.
all the best!
