I just set up an MX-810 with an MRF-350. Everything seems to work, EXCEPT the IR commands from the MRF-350 to the Sony KDL-40XBR4 TV. No matter how I set things, the Sony TV refuses to see any of the commands coming from the MRF-350. It WILL see IR commands coming directly from the MX-810 however(so I know I have the right code).

I have tried adjusting the output, but it doesn't change anything. I have also tried changing ports that the IR cord uses(along with specifying the correct port or even ALL in the software and loading it).

I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Well, I think I have it working. For some reason, the Sony TV is EXTREMELY picky about exactly where I place the IR eyeball. It has to be in one particular spot, otherwise, it just won't pick it up, probably because it is on an extra 10ft extension(I also have to have the IR power cranked to the max, for it to work).

It seems like the IR signal weakens quite a bit, from the MRF-350, when on an extension. I'm a little surprised by this because my previous Logitech 890's RF unit had no such issues at all. I could place the eyeball several inches away without issue.

This might be a dumb question, but why do you need to put the emitter on the tv? If you are in front of the tv, you don't need to send RF to MRF350 then to the tv via emitter. Just send IR out of the remote to tv. Problem solved.... or am I missing something????

Well, my objective here is to never have to remember to aim at anything, when using the remote, especially when changing activities, which means changing inputs.

I seem to have found the sweet spot tho.

I have a 70XBR950 and used the "Control S" port on the back of the TV. I like that option better because you do not see the IR blaster in the front of the TV. I am not sure if you TV has this, but it worked good for me. You do need a mono to mono 1/8" cable to connect it. Chad

put the emitter on the back of the glass right next to bump for the ir receiver, and yes the IR output needs jacked a bit

That is exactly where I ended up putting it, which was the sweet spot. A bit strange, it would be a problem, considering I had my IR emitter from my Logitech 890, on the plastic part, a several inches behind the glass and never had this type of issue.

Oh well, it works now. Thanx

The harmony emitter is not covered with plastic on the top like the URC emitter, go back to using the 890 emmiter then. It will work with the mrf just fine. If you need an emitter, PM I can get you one.
