I purchased an approximately year old MSC-400 and have discovered that the software version is about 5 or 6 revisions older than the latest. I am not a professional installer, but instead an end-user who happens to be a 20-year veteran software engineer with emphasis on low-level programming, operating-systems, device-drivers, firmware etc. so I'm more than confident I can program the unit myself. But, morever, given my profession and interest I *want* to do this on my own and become very familiar with the unit to mate with all my fairly recent A/V equipment all of which are not surprisingly absent in the software/IR-database in the version I currently have. I visited URC's web-site and did not see any method to download MSC-400 software. Apparently, they do provide a means for end-users to do so for their remotes -- I downloaded the software for the MX3000 successfully -- but it is limited to only remotes. The pull-down menu on their web-site doesn't have a selection option for the MSC-400. Suggestions are very much appreciated!

Well, I'll tell you the problem. Only dealers have access to the website that has the juicy goodness.
As for suggestions, maybe set up an open FTP server and post/mail the information to certain unscrupulous hippies that might want to fight the power by sending copies of secret URC dealer issue processor programming software to low level software engineers...

Contact the dealer at which you bought the MSC-400, they should be able to provide you with the latest software.
