First attempt at programming one of these and I ran across a few questions.

How can I do custom macros for just one button? For example. I have a projector which requires me to hit the power button twice to turn it off. I would like for the 810 to Power - Delay - Power once the "off" command is sent to my equipment via an activity or the system off button.

Also, I have read through the custom icon tutorial, but do not see the "blank" tab he is referring to with the channels. Thus, I cannot find the icons I am making to put them into my macro. Any thoughts?

You can create the macro you want in the browser. If you create a power off macro in the device you could use it in the activity.

To create a macro in the browser just highlight the button you want the macro on and then drag all the commands in the macro over.

I guess I just don't see what you are talking about. I don't see ANY commands when I highlight it in the browser. Below is a copy of what I see when I do what you say. Perhaps I'm missing something quite easy.

Guess I can't post pics yet.....hmm.

I am with you... The browser seems way more useful for tweaking/fixing the 810 after the default setup of the wizard... It's a tad confusing but I am learning...

Havok, think of the browser like this:

Left half are the commands available (imported), the right are the buttons/menus on the remote.

So in your case, you want to find the power off command on the left using the tree structure. Then you want to select the power off hard button on the far right to select the button you want the command to go to (like you already have in the pic).

You then drag the power off command from the left (imported action view) to the Mx-810 action list on the lower right corner. Then you can add a delay with the delay button, then drag the same power off command from left again for the second time...

Hope that makes sense, please chime in if I am wrong... I am still battling with the browser also...

So if I understand this right, i need to get a list of commands for the specific projector to import. I can't use what's already in the remote?

If you make a copy of your .wzr file, you can open the copy in the Universal Browser and import from there.

It's really a silly workaround to URC allowing access to the IR Database from the Universal Browser (something that all versions of MX-Editor support).

Hmmm the browser always seems to open the mzr file that you currently are working on by default...

Looking at your pic, it looks like you only have setup your blue-ray player as a device. The tree on the left shows this under devices...

I would suggest that you add all your devices to the remote, then create activities/tweak the remote.

Once you add more devices (if available from URC), you will see more commands on the left.

Thats just it... they are all in there, yet the only one that appears is BluRay. I'm going to try the copy of the .wzr and see if that works.

A copy of the wzr shouldn't help you more then just opening the wzr file from the browser app...

Click browse in lower left corner, find your wzr file and it show you whats in it...

Unless of course you have multiple wzr files...

Odd question, when you added the device did the software have your models when you went through the wizard?

Not exact models. I just used the ones that were the from the previous year. Everything but the receiver worked.

I saved a copy of the .wzr file, pulled it up in the browser and everything came up just fine. Quite odd, but it worked. I'll play some more. Now if I can just get the custom images to work right. =P
