1. Fired up my new MX-3000, followed the manual, went to the download link for the MX-3000 editor but the link is not there. Went to the home page, professional, support and found the download there. Entered my serial number and downloaded. Installed the editor and active sync. Went to do Live Update as directed but no Live Update selection avail under Communications. Where do I go to get the latest versions of the software? Here are my current versions:

Editor 1.20.154
Emulator 2.23.2007.125
IRDB 1.80
Manager 2.23.2007.228
Remote Control 2.23.5.60627
OS 4.20.004.010N2
Active Sync 3.7.1

2. I went to the files section of RemoteCentral.com and downloaded a few System RCCs to test them out on my remote. The download fine and I can run the emulator on the editor to see the flow, but when I try to download to my MX-3000 I get a download failure every time. The remote still has the demo program on it. I assume it gets overwritten by the new RCC, is that correct or do I have to delete it before downloading? its still there so download definitely did not happen.

3. I have a Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH and found the MXF file for the IR codes on Pioneer's website. How do I get these codes into the MX-3000 editor. Didn't see any way to import a file.

More questions to follow...thanks in advance for the help.

1) I will assume you are new to RC and to forums. The live updateable software is available from your authorized dealer. Where did you get your remote?

2) All you need to normally do is doubleclick the profile and "download" it to the remote.

3) You are really novice. I suggest continuing to play witht he software or getting a Pro to do it.

Good Luck and nice choice.

1. Contact your dealer if you need updatable software.

2. Which error are you getting?

3. The "Universal Browser." It's the button with the geometry shapes on it. You can then use the open button and find the MXF to input them.

Welcome and congrats on the 3000.

Once you get to your authorized dealer and they give you the download information, you should be good to go for programming. A huge suggestion - download the programming manual and read it, maybe a couple of times. If you don't read it, they will find you wandering around muttering to yourself. :-)

Thanks all for the quick replies.

1. I purchased the MX-3000 at Best Buy. They directed me to the URC website for software updates.

2. Wrote a small test program, tried to download to the remote and it worked. Then tried to download a System RCC from RC to the remote. No Joy. Tried a diff System RCC from RC and it worked. Went back and retried the one that failed...and it worked. Hmm, either the issue is fixed or there were some commun. issues with the download. Anyway, seems ok for now.

3. Amazing...I had opened the Universal Browser previously and somehow manage to not see the "open" button...lack of sleep is not conducive to good programming...

Thanks again all...any more thoughts on software updates given Best Buys response? I think I have to contact URC Support.

With enough stubborness you can get Best Buy to get you the software sometimes.

If I were in your shoes, I'd put down my address and get with one of the dealers on this forum and return the remote to Best Buy.

Sound advice Joe-CI...I will consider that option.
