Step one of programming an MSC400 is to import devices from your remotes. So I tried it and my MSC400 editor doesn't seem to understand the new MX980 files (.rcf). I know others here are using both MX980s and MSC400s, so it must be a user error (I hope). Help!

Create the devices directly into the MSC-400

Right now the MX980 doesn't seem to import into anything, including the universal browser.

The important question it would seem is "When will there be an update to allow importing the 980 into the MSC-400?". If it's a week or two, I would wait (and will since I have not started on that part yet). If it's not going to be for months, then (rats) I will probably get started. Do I remember correctly that learning IR commands would be better from the 980? I have a few things that are not in the database which I have to have and do not have serial inputs...

I recently ordered an MX-980 and MRC-400 to replace my MX-950 and 2 mrf-300's.

I had decided to program my 950 to operate the 400 and wait on using the 980.

I got home today and they had both arrived.

About 10 seconds after installing the battery in the 980 I came to the conclusion that I was going to have to do it 'the hard way'!

The 980 is SWEET!!!!!!

I think it's going to be a long night ;-)
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!

Yeah, I defaulted to defining the devices directly in the MSC400 editor. Doesn't seem to be a big deal, but I haven't finished yet.

Mentioned this to everyone I could talk to at CES. It's still being worked on and is supposed to happen in a few weeks.
