Have a light behind my TV, plugged into AC in wall.
What ideas for a remote switching device (light plugs into the device) does anyone have, that my MX-810 can turn the light on with my Watch TV activity?
Thanks!!!

Lutron Spacer System Lamp dimmer, $100 at retail, though very hard to find outside the Custom Installer channels

Another option would be X-10. 1 lamp module and an IR543 would do the trick for about $30. Some people have stated issues with X-10, but I'm using 3 lamp modules with an IR543 and they work very well (about 95%).

I've also used X-10 with great success. Also, note that Smart Home has "insteon", which also supports X-10. Finally, if your light is a flourescent, use an on/off module and not a dimmable module.

I have the RF receiver for X10, will the 810 transmit RF directly to that? Or do I need the IR module?

Depending on the components you have in your system and what is on while "watching TV", one of them may have a switched outlet on the back that you could plug the light into.

If that outlet is on switch the best way to go would be with a Lutron Maestro IR dimmer, you can pick them up at HomeDepot. Dont remember how much it was but I know it was the best $50 I ever spent. And it works great with the 810
