I'm having the exact same problem with the squeaky buttons. I'm thinking this remote was just not made quite as well as some of their other remotes.
Which particular buttons squeak for you? I've used my 810 heavily for about two years as well, and only the directional pad buttons seem to squeak/rub. However, I'm pretty sure they did this when new as well.
