I configured the RFX9400 with SSID=Pronto_Network_1, no encryption, WiFi checked and IP setting = DHCP. The IP address is 192.168.8.80.

On the 9600 "system page" properties, I set extender0 type to wireless extender (9400) and under "Wireless Settings" the "enable wireless on Pronto control Panel" is checked along with "Stand Alone Mode", wireless timout = 24 hours and channel = 1.

I created a bare bones configuration file for testing with Home, Family Room and Cable Box devices. Home has a button that jumps to Family Room. Family Room has buttons for "Guide" and "Exit" that link to Cable Box code page. Cable Box has the code page containing "guide" and "exit" codes from factory DB. (I tested these codes and they work fine with IR.) I also set the Cable Box Properties -> Settings tab and checked extender0 and Port 1.

When I press the "guide" or "exit" button from the Family Room device, it works thru IR not WiFi. I confirmed by blocking line of sight with a pillow. Also, the busy light on the 9400 does not go on. If I change the Family Room device -> properties
-> Settings tab and check the extender0 box, and press the "guide" button, the 9400 busy light goes on but the guide command is not executed.

How can I get this thing to work?
