You're probably talking about the "repeat command rate", which is something I usually include in my reviews... and yes, it seems that the more sophisticated remotes generally are slower in this regard. However, they *are* dealing with often slow-to-respond devices and light rather than a constant 2-way RF connection. Bluetooth might be an interesting direction for remotes to go, but I think WiFi might be more versatile (considering BT's range limits and people's penchant for controlling things through walls and from across the house).
