Thanks for your helpful advice, but I've already done all that - I've even assigned the iPronto a reserved (fixed) IP address from my router, tried all my ISP's DNS servers, opened all TCP/UDP ports for the device, and STILL I'm nowhere!
When you got your iCrappo, was it pre-loaded with a firmware version later than 1.3? If so, then I know for sure the old firmware's at fault. I think it's a major oversight on Philips' part not to allow for an offline upgrade route - to 'push' the firmware from the PC to the remote the same way the iCF files can be sent.
Oh, well, I'll try one more time, maybe thru some miracle it'll work this time, though there's not a thing I haven't tried yet.
