See my other post in the NetX thead regarding communication - the NetX does utilize 802.11b to communicate with the home LAN. It has no other way to communicate. The NetX must be in range of at least one of your network's wireless access points.

I recommend assigning the NetX with a static IP, as it is then easier to verify if it is on the network -- if in range, you can Ping it from any computer on the network. The static IP removes the guesswork on what it's address is. I have statically assigned IP's to all my Pronto gear .... the iPronto, and the various Netx's.
