Despite some misleading advertising mentioning IR/RF support before iPronto came to market the iPronto never had RF capabilities. It has the 802.11b Wi-Fi card which uses RF to communicate with an access point but would need harware modification to control RF devices. It's a big drawback and hard to understand why the haven't added RF capabilities.

So the iPronto is unable to learn RF and cannot send RF signals. In order to control RF devices you need an external RF/IR converter for the iPronto to learn RF codes in IR format and an IR/RF converter for resending those signals in IR and letting the converter produce RF.

Most infrared extender sets include an IR/RF and RF/IR converter. After learning the codes you wouldn't need the RF/IR converter any more. Depending on the used RF frequency and code format not every set can be used.

Please take a look at http://www.mbx-usa.com/ for more information.
