X10 programming is relatively trivial. Look in the Pronto Pro NG file section for a pcf file from a guy who calls himself "lowpro." He does magical things with X10. You can download the ProntoPro NG editor to open is file and extract the IR codes and look to see how he sets up mood lighting macros.
