Sounds like you did everything right. In pronto edit click one of the numeral buttons, then the "action tab" comes up, in the large box above it should highlight the name of the command in blue, double click on that, ADD-IR dialog box appears and a view IR button, when you select that the hex code will show up.

Once you see that there are IR commands, then test a known command on the unit to make sure it responds. Let us know if you find any new commands.
