Thanks, very very much for your kind efforts. I dl'ded MakeHex and edited the nec1.irp file within to set the device to 0 as you suggested. I then ran the file thru MakeHex to produce the hex codes.

Then I used IRPanels to produce a ccf file from the hex codes. When I open the ccf with prontoedit, and double click on any of the device buttons, i should be able to see the pronto hex code for that button right?

Well i don't see any codes for any of the buttons, anywhere. Is this a problem with IR Panels or am I doing something wrong here?

I had hoped to use the ccf to import into my MX800 editor program and then test all the codes to see if any would give me the desired discrete power on code.

Am I even on the right track here?
