There was a thread over at AVS Forum:

[Link: avsforum.com]

on this same topic that I thought I would answer here. I went back and looked at my files and the official Sanyo commands that are posted on their website.

Here is a recap of discrete and power toggle commands from Sanyo projectors based on what is in the spreadsheets at the official Sanyo site:

[Link: sanyo.com]

and what I have collected elsewhere.

From the spreadsheets for IR codes:

None of the .7” models respond to discrete power commands. All other commands use the NEC1 protocol, device =48 decimal (30H) expressed as C. The power toggle is function 0 decimal expressed as NEC1:48:0

Two of the .9” models respond to discrete power commands. On and Off are NEC1:48:160 and NEC1:48:161.. All commands use the NEC1:48. The power toggle is NEC1:48:0.

Eight of the 1.3” models respond to discrete power commands. On and Off are NEC1:48:160 and NEC1:48:161. All commands use the NEC1:48. The power toggle is NEC1:48:0.

The 1.8” models aren’t IR commands. They are a duplicate of the RS-232 commands for the same models. The Z1 and Z2 aren’t included in any of the spreadsheets.

From decoding ccf files the Z1 uses NEC1 device 48, sub-device= 206, expressed as NEC1:48.206 (this is a different device number from the ones above) for all commands EXCEPT the power toggle that is two commands together:

NEC1:48:255
NEC1:48.206:0

(This is the code that I created for Don that worked)

From another source, I believe that NEC1:48.206:0 alone will work. I think the Pronto ccf file that I decoded with the two commands is in error. It works because the projector recognizes the second, correct command.

The Z2 projector has two different IR codesets. This is apparently so you can control two projectors separately. Code 1 uses NEC1:51.0:160 and NEC1:51.0:161 for On and Off. The power toggle is NEC1:51.0:0. It uses NEC1:51.0 for the rest of the commands. Code 2 uses NEC1:51.17 rather than NEC1:51.0 for all commands.

In summary, Sanyo uses four different device and sub-device combinations:

NEC1:48 (all except the Z1 and Z2)
NEC1:48.206 Z1
NEC1:51.0 Z2 code 1
NEC1:51.17 Z2 code 2

In all cases function 160 is discrete On and 161 is Off , IF they are recognized.
In every case function 0 is the Power toggle.
A spot check revealed most of the function numbers are the same across all models, but naturally not all models respond to all functions.

Don, these are the most likely power commands for the Z1 (Toggle, On and Off, respectively):

If nothing else works, you could try the Z2 commands, but I am skeptical that they will work.
