That's a great question. My understanding is that there will be no DirecTV HD receivers other than those that are branded DirecTV...and it appears that they will be offering only one model in each product category (basic, basic DVR, HD, HD DVR).
Right now, there are still a few Hughes HTL-HD units around in addition to the RCA DTC210. The Hughes is an older model than the RCA, and lacks some of the RCA's features, but generally works very well. I have one in my own system that has worked just fine for the past year or more.
This equipment situation with DirecTV is very disappointing, and the lack of an alternative is why some of the discontinued HD receivers are bringing a premium price...I just saw a Sony SAT HD-300 go for $995 on eBay.
